my guy | Macomb County child photographer

I’m a bit behind on client sneak peeks but I’m hoping you all won’t mind me sneaking in one of my guy. Yesterday he had surgery on his eyes to correct them because he is cross-eyed. In the grand scheme of things, not a very serious surgery but surgery all the same. He was a trooper. His doctor had warned us of all the issues children have before and after surgery and I was prepared for the worst. There was no need because this little guy has amazing. As he was coming out of the anesthesia he said “hi daddy, hi mommy” and then blew me a kiss. I could have crumbled to the ground with relief. We won’t know for a few weeks how successful the surgery was but regardless, I’m thrilled at how well the entire situation went. Going through this with my little guy made me think so much about the parents out there who have to deal with much bigger things with their little ones. I drew strength from them and they are true heroes to me. It was also amazing to be surrounded but such supportive family and friends. We were put on many prayer chains, given many good thoughts and positive vibes and well wishes and all that was felt. Thank you, you all have no idea how much it all meant to us. xoxo

Hair to die for! Miss G came in for some head shots and besides being absolutely adorable, she is sweet and charming. She had an audition this week, hope it went well! I just have to say again that her hair is to die for! I would pay big bucks for that color and the curls!

to a very special mom
Today I had the honor and pleasure of getting to know Fisher just a little bit. What did I learned? He is stubborn, he has mad skills in the ignoring department, he is FEARLESS, he has a contagious laugh that warmed my heart and above all else, he is a hero <3. He has Bilateral Retinoblastoma Cancer (yes I had to copy and paste that from his facebook page). And let me tell you, hanging out with this little guy you would never guess how much he’s been through. Back to the fearless reference, he loved the geese at the park and there was one particular goose that took a liking to him too. As mom was hiding behind me (don’t worry, dad was keeping an eye on the goose), the big bad goose walked up to Fisher and after sizing him up, nipped at his hand thinking that there might be some food in it. Fisher just gave his hand a little rub and then sized up the goose to see if maybe he could ride him (go Fisher!). I think that sums up Fisher the best
I admire his parents. I believe their strength is a true testament to why Fisher is the amazing little guy that he is. Fisher Rocks!

I just love baby cheeks, pure sweetness. I couldn’t get enough of this little man. I even threatened to steal him but since his parents know where I live, it wouldn’t do me any good. He was an absolute dream to photograph but I do have to say I’m pretty sure he has a stubborn streak. My very first shot of him he flipped me the bird, no kidding! And I tried to gently move his one hand a couple of times and was de-nied, even in a deep sleep. Thank you Jeff and Katie for trusting me to capture Little G in all his newness and freshness, it was truly my pleasure.

When I asked mom if there was anything special she wanted to include in our session, she mentioned that dad loved to hunt and had some antlers they wanted to bring. I loved the idea, it was a great way to personalize their session. I also really love the final result. This little future hunter was the best little boy. He was so sweet, totally had me yearning for another one of my own. I love newborns, I love their peeling skin, the sweet little noises and even the newborn cry, sigh…this one is probably hitting me harder because my baby turns 4 tomorrow. Ok, back to this little man. He stole my heart and his parents are two of the nicest people. Thank you for letting me capture this special time.
