Happy Thanksgiving!

Posted on November 25, 2009

I have to admit Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  It makes me jump with joy.  I’ve always loved getting together with people I love and eating great food.  My favorite combination.  Its been a tradition as long as I can remember that my family all gathers for every holiday.  This year I’m hosting which means I need to be prepared to feed about 40 people.  While this may sound scary to some of you, I am in my element.  Well the cooking part is but I dread cleaning my house.  I want everything to be perfect but that’s faaaaar from reality.  3 little kids and a busy life pretty much guarantees house cleaning duties come last.  So my biggest chore is to make the house presentable and know that my loved ones won’t judge (or they can eat their turkey in the street!).  Its Thanksgiving Eve and I have brined and rubbed the bird, cooked a sweet potato pie with snicker doodle crust, made pretzel jello, sweet potato casserole, chopped tons of celery and onions for the stuffing, roasted 6 large heads of garlic, did about 10 loads of laundry, cleaned under the kids beds…ok, enough, I’m exhausted and bored telling you all about it.  I still have to get the brisket ready so that it can be turned on at 3 a.m.  Is my house clean?  Not even close.  See, still obsession about the house :)  As exhausted as I am I don’t think sleep will come easy because yes, I am just that excited.

I have so much to be thankful for.  Most importantly I have so many people that I love and that love me in return.  I am thankful everyday of my life for the people who have touched my life, some have been brief others I can’t shake. :)

What’s a post without a picture or several?  Recently I went on a tour with my daughters Brownie Troop at The Parade Company.  WOW!!  I highly recommend going if you get the chance.  We got to see a ton of floats and paper mache heads.  Because we toured right before Detroit’s Thanksgiving Parade, we also got to see people building floats that will be in the parade.  I really can’t express how cool this place is.  On the day we were there they were having Balloon School.  People were out in the parking lot with giant balloons learning how to walk them in the parade and it looked like so much fun.  There are a lot of opportunities for volunteering at The Parade Company and its something I’m going to do.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving, filled with loved ones and good food!

HOLIDAY MINI SESSIONS :)

Posted on November 10, 2009

I’ve had lots of requests for holiday mini sessions this year so I finally decided to do them :)  There will not be any traditional Christmas backdrops or props.  One look will be bright white, great for fun, bright colored clothing and snow hats!  The other will be classic black.  Please contact me at info@kristamuskovinphotography.com for availability!  As of this posting, I only have 4 spots remaining, all in the afternoon.   And I just have to say WOW, where has 2009 gone?!?

HOOT! {Fenton, MI child photographer}

This child, oh Lord, does she ever have PERSONALITY!  I could not stop smiling and laughing around her.  I have so so many images of her giving me jazz hands or gun fingers and getting her to hold still *snort*!  I wanted to take her home and I think her mom was on the verge of giving her to me but apparently she’s a daddy’s girl and he would miss her, lol.  She is gorgeous!  And her eyes, blue blue blue.  But wait until her see her baby sister, I think they may be bluer if that is even possible.

So I know she appears to be shy in the next shot but she’s not.  She was just being goofy and hiding in the mass of legs that is her family.  Oh my camera loved her!  Ok, my heart loves her too.

doll face {Ann Arbor child photographer}

I really think she looks like a little doll, especially in her yukata.  Her parents lived in Japan for a few years.  Daddy still travels there and brought her back this beautiful piece of Japanese culture.  Little Miss N is so charming with a fabulous imagination and I enjoyed getting to spend the entire day with her (and her parents).  Looking forward to our next play date Miss N! xoxo
