leaf fight! {West Bloomfield child photographer}

Bring it little man! So the last few times I’ve hung out with C he’s wanted nothing to do with me and I mean nothing! Lucky for me he was ready to play this time. It’s not easy being 2.
He is such a cutie, check out that blonde hair, rockin tan (he had just gotten back from a sunny vacation the day before our shoot) and killer smile. And his sister is adorable too. I’m in love with the image of her because I think it captures her innocence with a hint at the princess inside. As always it was fun to see you guys. Have fun trick-or-treating!

boy energy {Grosse Pointe child photographer}

I had so much fun meeting Mr. J and chasing him around. He has so much energy and life that he kept me smiling our whole session. I always find it fascinating when boys gravitate towards bugs and J was no exception. I know there are girls that like bugs too (neither of mine do, they freeze in freight) but I have yet to find a boy who didn’t stop to check out the bugs. Mr. J, thank you for showing me around your “animal path” and taking some time to play with me.

family {macomb county family photographer}

I’ll admit it, I find families a bit challenging to photograph. Everyone wants the perfect family photograph and thats a lot of pressure.
Well this summer I finally had my family pictures taken and I discovered the perfect family picture was the one that captured my family just how we are, which is not sitting perfectly, all smiling directly at the camera. I cried when I saw it and it hangs beautifully on my wall where I can smile at it everyday. It reminds me that families don’t have to be challenging because they are beautiful just how they are. I enjoyed spending time capturing this family. I swear it had nothing to do with the first semi-warm beautiful day of fall after a freezing couple of weeks and had everything to do with the four charming siblings and equally as charming parents. D Family, I hope I captured you in a way that warms your hearts and brings a smile to your faces.

fall fun {Rochester, MI family photographer}
Posted on October 17, 2009
I love these boys, they are so so so adorable. They were such troopers because, although it looks like a perfect fall day, it was cold. We had fun anyway. Little D discovered standing on his own and I’m very certain it had nothing to do with the picky bail of hay he was using as to hold himself up.
And his big brother, I got a few smiles from his this time. He never gives me smiles, see the peek of our last session HERE. As always I enjoyed our time together.

“A friend is someone who knows us, but loves us anyway.” ~Jerome Cummings
The story of our friendship ~ opposites attract. She was the good girl and I was, well, I gave my parents a few gray hairs. She was quiet and respectful and I was loud and defiant. She loved The Smiths, I loved ACDC. One year she even dressed as me for Halloween because we were that different. We rubbed off on each other in good ways. We were even supposed to move to California together but she met a boy and decided to stay in Michigan (I had to go without her). Well that boy ended up being the love of her life and together they created this adorable chunk of sweetness. I guess I can finally forgive you for not coming with me
Here’s Miss S on her 6 month birthday. I truly love photographing babies at 6 months.
This first image may be one of my most favorite ever and I think I’m going to get a big sample of it for my studio.

And after the beauty of the above image, she gave me a little attitude ~ the cutest attitude ever. I think she was done being KM Photo’s Next Top Model.

I love you Jo, your sisterhood means the world to me. xoxo

love {Port Huron umm wedding photographer?}
Posted on October 6, 2009
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m not a wedding photographer but every once in a blue moon, the stars align and I find myself photographing a wedding. The Michelle and Steve were really laid back a lot of fun. They have a very interesting chemistry, on one hand it was like they had been together forever and on the other hand it was like just fell madly in love yesterday. Perfect chemistry in my book. They chose to have their ceremony at The Atrium Cafe & Ice Cream Parlour in Port Huron. It is an amazing place to visit, the ambiance is so inviting and so are Gayle and Rock Stevens, the owners. Check it out if you visit Port Huron. I’m going back soon just to sample the delicious looking brownie pie treats.
Michelle and Steve, it was a pleasure photographing your wedding, best wishes for a wonderful life together filled with love, health and happiness. Krista

I have such a soft spot for daddies with their babies. My heart melts watching my husband with our kids, seriously turns into a pool of warm liquid goo. This first image makes me feel the same way and it’s not even my baby but look at those cheeks and those eyes! He’s such a cute little guy. His big brother had it going on too. I loved his personality, lots of questions about what things were and why I did things the way I did. The entire family was a joy to photograph and beautiful too.
