chocolate eyes {Michigan child photographer}

Posted on July 28, 2009

Really, what girl doesn’t love chocolate?!?  Ok, so I can’t eat their eyes (gross!) but they still melt me and make me smile the same way chocolate does :)  Yep, I just love their big brown eyes, sigh…not to mention their super contagious smiles.  Their mama, Kristie,  rocks my hair and puts up with my ever changing moods and I always look like a rockstar when I leave her salon.  If you are looking for a fantastic stylist you must call her at Emile Salon!  Speaking of, my grays are starting to peek through, LOL!

Giving is Awesome {Michigan family photographer}

Posted on July 27, 2009

Back in December I became part of Giving is Awesome.  Giving is Awesome is a wonderful movement that is the brain child of a friend and fellow photographer, Kristen Kalp of Essential Imagery that inspired photographers around the world to give the gift of custom photography to a deserving family.  This is how I came to meet the “B Family” as they nominated the recipients.  It was truly my pleasure as they are an amazing family.  This little girl’s personality is so full of playfulness and joy.   And her brother is a new addition to the family as he was recently adopted but there already seemed to be a bond forming between the two of them.  His smile lit up the park, not to mention his sparkly blue eyes.  Thanks B Family for taking time of your very busy day to spend some time at the park with me!

spec~tacular! {Michigan child photographer}

Posted on July 21, 2009

So today was a big day in the Muskovin house for our youngest member (in all honesty, it was a big day for his mamma too but I’m trying to be a trooper).  Last month we were visiting family in North Carolina and both my aunt and my uncle (who both have careers in the eye profession) pointed out that my little man seemed to have a “lazy eye.”  So I scheduled an appointment with a pediatric ophthalmologist.  Today was that appointment.  My little man was an absolute trooper.  After a few hours of eye tests and dilation we were told that he is farsighted and that is causing him to be cross eyed.  He will be wearing glasses to hopefully correct his vision.  After 6 weeks he’ll be re-evaluated and if that time he is progressing, he will have to also wear an eye patch to help strengthen the muscles in the weaker eye.  After several hours of searching for just the right pair of specs to adorn his perfect little face, the 3 of us (dad had a say too, which is why the brand of his glasses is Converse “to match his shoes”) found just the right pair.  My little man wore them all evening and commented several times that he could “see.”  Although my heart aches at this small obstacle in his young life, it swelled huge each time his little face peered at me and grinned with his new accessory. <3

Fraser High School Class of 2010 {Michigan Senior Photographer}

Posted on July 18, 2009

Another Spokes Model – Miss “D.”  I knew the second I heard her voice that I would like her :)  I totally enjoyed our session tonight even though it was cut short by black clouds and rain.  She was up for anything and I can’t wait to meet up with her again to finish our session!

adorably mischievous {Michigan child photographer}

Posted on July 16, 2009

I’ve photographed this little cutie a few times but this was the first time she actually wanted me to take them and I was thrilled!  She’s got a ton of personality – and if you visit my blog often you’ve seen pictures of her cousin who I refer to as Miss Personality – so it obviously runs in the family ;)  I had fun T, thanks for hangin with me!

Lake Shore High School Class of 2010 {Michigan Senior Photographer}

Posted on July 11, 2009

Meet Miss “S” my Spokesmodel from Lake Shore High School.  We haven’t done her on location session yet but here are a few from our studio session together.  She’s captain of the swim team and I loved getting creative with that shot.  Miss S is totally fun to work with and I look forward to our location session early next week and can’t wait to share my favorites.

vacationing sisters {Harsens Island Child Photographer}

Posted on July 8, 2009

Recently I was invited to Harsens Island for the first time to photograph two sisters and their family and fell in love.  The island is beautiful and peaceful and I will for sure visit again soon.  But on to better things, the girls!  They are both so gorgeous but it was their relationship that really had me smiling from ear to ear.  They are both so full of life and love it was fun to chase them around.  They are very close to the same age as my girls who also have a wonderful relationship ~ most of the time ;) .  I really enjoyed meeting the entire family.  Thank you so much for inviting me to the island and trusting me to capture your important vacation memories!harsensislandmichiganphotographer2harsensislandmichiganphotographer3harsensislandmichiganphotographer

fresh {Michigan newborn photographer}

Posted on July 2, 2009

There is nothing like newborn sounds, smells and soft baby skin.  I can’t help but to smile and coo  whenever I see one and like the Grinch (which by all means I’m not!) I can always feel my heart grow three sizes larger.  This little guy is no exception, congratulations L and C and big brother H, he’s a keeper!
