Karli | Walled Lake senior photographer

I get asked all the time and the answer is yes, I only photograph beautiful people!! lol The honest answer is that I find beauty in everyone I photograph and that is what I capture. But you would have to be blind to not see Karli’s beauty, daaaang!! Something about her reminds me of Jaclyn Smith. Which means I should have photographed her doing a Charlie’s Angel pose… Anyway, in one I was having issues deciding between color and black and white so you get to see both versions.

Ashley | Rochester senior photographer

You may remember Ashley from earlier this spring when she did a spokes model session with me. We just did her actual senior session and again I’m floored by her beauty. Combined with her spunkiness its a great combination. Thanks again Ash for modeling for me, I really enjoyed chasing you around with my camera. And by the way, the traveling changing room is the best idea ever!!

Last week I got to spend some time in Port Austin with my fremily. Fremily? My word for friends that are like family. =) We love our time in Port Austin. My kids call it “the funnest place on earth!” Makes sense when you spend every day at the beach, the pool and the putt putt golf course with some of your favorite people on earth, right!? So meet Zach. He is my 7 year old daughter’s crush. Although she won’t admit it, she thinks he’s dreamy. And Zach is so sweet to her. Thanks for putting up with her!! =) Since Zach spends time in Port Austin every year we thought it was a good place to take his senior pictures. Enjoy your last year of high school Zach!!

If you’ve never been to Love Child, a fun and funky kids clothing store, in Royal Oak you must check it out!! I get a bit giddy when I walk in there and they don’t even carry adult clothes, lol. You will find unique clothes for babies to tweens! And their customer service is so amazing. You will love your Love Child experience. I recently had the pleasure of working with Love Child to shoot new images for their website. I love the models as much as I love the clothes! Gorgeous!! You can visit their website by click on Love Child or like them on facebook here.

The luck of the Irish
Posted on August 12, 2011
I love weddings. I always get misty eyed. I’m a romantic and believe in Happily Ever After. One might think that would make me want to be a wedding photographer, and I have to admit, the more weddings I photograph, the more I love doing it. Patrick and Meredith got married at Most Holy Trinity and the church is breathtakingly beautiful. Every part of it oozed with it’s Irish heritage. I love this image (courtesy of my assistant Paul) of the two of them, gotta love a good fist pump from the groom. It’s like he’s saying “yeah, I got my girl!”
And Meredith was just a gorgeous bride! So much class and beauty. I got so excited when the wind would blow and catch her veil.
I have always had a love affair with Michigan Central Station. I have spent countless hours imagining it in it’s hay day, imagining what it could be now. So you can imagine my excitement when Meredith requested a portrait in front of it. And yes they are standing in the middle of the street and we did have to dodge a few cars but it was well worth it.
Ah, Michigan and Trumbull. I get a bit teary at the history that has disappeared from this iconic corner. Again the romantic in me longs for all things old instead of new shiny. The guys really rocked this shot, such a fun group!
The second I saw the cake and cupcakes I fell in love. Then I discovered the groom’s mother made them. I had no idea she was a talented cake lady!! I have to admit that I’m not a fan of chocolate cake but everyone was raving so I had to give it a try and two pieces later I realized I don’t like chocolate cake but I love Patrick’s mom’s chocolate cake!! Psst, if you are looking for a cake lady, shot me an email and I’ll get you her information. =)
The reception was at Assaggi Bistro in Ferndale and as a good friend once said “it’s like a party in my mouth!” Not only is the food amazing but the ambience is perfect. Mix in an awesome group of people celebrating the love of Patrick and Meredith and it made for a magical night.
Congratulations Patrick and Meredith!! xo

baby fever | maternity photographer

My brother and sister-in-law welcomed their latest addition to their family today. A beautiful 9 pound 9 ounce baby boy. He is gorgeous and I was in love the second I saw him. Congratulations Marcus and Sarah!!
This family is expecting their newest addition in just over a week. They have the most beautiful babies and I cannot wait to meet him/her. All these babies are giving me baby fever!! But alas, my family is complete so I will make do lovin’ on everyone else’s babies!! Isn’t this mama glowing gorgeous?! Sigh, if I only looked half this good while pregnant.

Could you just die over the beauty of these two?!

Wishing you a safe and beautiful delivery M! xo

she’s gone country | Michigan senior photographer
Posted on August 8, 2011
*squeal* I love what I do and I’m always honored when other people like what I do too
So you can imagine how excited I was when one of my favorite friend’s sister (do you follow me Beuller? Beuller?) asked me to travel to Grand Rapids to take her daughter’s senior pictures!! I brought my family and loved combining business with pleasure, although honestly it never felt like business. The west side of Michigan is so beautiful and I long for the locations that Cat took me to. The first was her grandparents house which was a playground of all things old and rusty, a photographers dream come true. Check out the colors on this old truck box.

I love this next one, she was talking to her mom who was off to the side of us. It warmed my heart to see how awesome their relationship is. I put Cat down on my list of teenagers that are wonderful. My list helps me not be so afraid of my own girls growing up.

Then we went to their friend’s farm. Again a photographer’s dream. Notice the cow? She came out to to see what we were up to and take a gigantic pee =) lol

I just love Cat’s eyes, so warm and dreamy.

Thank you G family for all your warmth and hospitality this weekend!! I am still full from all the wonderful food. There is nothing quite like Grandma C’s sausage and peppers! xoxo
