boys boys boys | Birmingham child photographer

What a lucky mama to have three boys. And three adorable boys at that. I few months ago I was honored to have photographed the twins as “newborns.” They were actually closer to three months at the time but were born prematurely so they still seemed like newborns. I was so happy to get to see them again and see how much they’ve changed. They look so much more alike now and I loved seeing their little personalities peeking out.
Now I’m not going to lie, I jumped up and down (not literally since my knee would not hold up
) when I got this shot. All three boys not only looking at me but smiling too!! And I didn’t even bust out the whoopee cushion, victory!! And their smiles just melt my heart.

His expression in this one killed me. He had just fallen backwards after climbing in a basket. He wasn’t happy as I was standing over him.

Oh my gosh, he’s so adorable!!

I mean seriously, I LOVE dimples! But who doesn’t, right? Well I’m obsessed and always wish I had them. I would spend hours as a kids with my fingers in my cheeks hoping to make indentations. I finally gave up, married a man with dimples and had a daughter who has them. But then I met this senior and started walking around with my fingers in my cheeks again. Well besides her awesome dimples she has stunning eyes. And the trifecta, she’s smart and fun too. Ok, more like a quadfecta if there is such a thing but you know what I mean.
She was a trooper and rocked out her inner ANTM when it starting pouring right in the middle of our session. Luckily it only lasted a short time and somehow her hair managed to still look amazing.

perfect day | still not a wedding photographer :)
Posted on October 25, 2010
Although I am not a wedding photographer it seems once a year I am honored to capture someone’s beautiful day. This year it was Jim and Debbie’s and everything about this day was gorgeous. The clouds parted, the sun glowed, the leaves glistened in all of their fall glory and two beautiful, amazing people said “I do” joining their families. Throughout the day I was touched by the abundance of wonderful people that are part of their lives. Congratulations, I couldn’t be happier for you both!

Sizzlin and her senior | Macomb County senior photographer

I could not have dialed up a more perfect weekend. Gorgeous warm weather, fall leaves in full color change, amazing sunlight and a gorgeous senior. I was so excited for the opportunity to photograph Miss H and her horse Sizzlin. When I was growing up my grandparents had a farm and all of us grandkids shared our very own pony. Let me tell you having my own pony wasn’t all its cracked up to be, my pony was mean. Regardless I still love horses and after meeting Sizzlin I’ve got the itch to get back in the saddle. But back to Sizzlin’s girl, can you say girl next door gorgeous!? She’s such a natural in front of the camera and sweet too. This first image is one of my favorites of the entire year! Thanks H!

apples | Michigan child photographer

Today I had a rare day , I got to spend one on one time with just one of my children, and it was fabulous. My little guy had a field trip to an orchard. The same orchard I’ve been to six times now, twice with each of my children. Somehow this time was different. I don’t know if its because I knew it was the last time I would visit this orchard with a preschooler or if it was seeing it through my boy’s eyes instead of my girls’. Regardless it was a very special day. We picked apples and my little guy wants to make a pie this weekend. It will be my first ever pie making adventure.
Happy Fall everyone!

wind and cool glasses | Troy Michigan Senior Photographer

This time of year in Michigan the weather is so hit or miss. I’m not going to complain about the weather the day of this senior’s session but it was a bit windy (which makes for great hair) and a bit chilly but you wouldn’t know it by the way Miss N worked the camera. I loved her coat and happy she was willing to work it in a few and although they are not pictured here, she had on an awesome pair of shoes. It was nice meeting you N!
