Be An Original {Macomb County Michigan Senior Photographer}

I recently came across an artistic wall hanging that I fell in love with that said “Be An Original” and I couldn’t help but to think of photographing seniors and this senior for sure. She had ideas and plans to incorporate who she is into her senior pictures. She loves Legally Blonde so this first image was inspired by the musical. Her little dog Buddy was awesome, he worked it like a pro! A big *squirrel* to him! She also loves zebra print so we had fun working that in too. Made me wish I was encouraged to be myself for my senior pictures…that were only taken a few years ago…few just means greater than 3 right? lol Have a great year M!

So I have this friend and I knew the first minute I met her that we would be friends. The funny thing is, we didn’t actually become friends for a couple of years after that first meeting. I have so many reasons to be thankful that she came into my life but one in particular, she encouraged…well encouraged isn’t a strong enough word, she pushed me into turning my photography hobby into what it has become today. I will forever be grateful for that push (forceful shove really). I’m also incredibly grateful for the 3 beautiful muses that she mothers. I mean seriously, this face brings me to my knees (my son has a soft spot for her too).

Her oldest brother, serious, smart, soulful and according to my oldest daughter, bossy (and this is a hilarious statement coming from her because she is bossy!)

I love this next image, water fountains seem to be magnets for kids and fun.

And here’s the middle man. The sparkle in his eyes, the dimple and smile say it all. Well at least it does for me.

Here’s the other side of Miss A. She is a hoot!

girl next door {Lake Orion Senior Photographer}

An unassuming beauty with brains and musical talent and I absolutely fell in love with her smile. So often I lean towards more serious looks but with Miss C I can’t get enough of her smile.
Oh yeah, she has gorgeous eyes and hair too. But what I loved most about her ~ she climbs trees. Yes, you read that right, she climbs trees. A girl after my own heart. When I was younger I lived in tress. My dad tried to deter me by cutting down low lying branches but it didn’t work. I loved the solitude I found in the trees and I haven’t been in one in way too many years and part of me lived vicariously through Miss C and her tree climbing. Funny but I kinda have a fear of heights…

It’s crazy to me how different siblings can be. My girls are night and day. So I don’t know why I am surprised that twins are different. Well regardless of their differences, what they do have in common is their sweetness, great big happy smiles and that they both wanted to get their pictures taken! This is the last of my beach session in Port Austin and I’m almost sad to post them, especially with this fall like weather we had today.

The one below, with the 2 of them, makes my heart happy

I’m not sure where C gets his hand signs from but he was cracking me up.

Had a great time guys! Can’t wait until next year! xoxo K

summer lovin’ {Port Austin beach photographer}

Regardless of the weather, I feel like this weekend signifies the end of summer, sigh… I live for the summer. Here’s a few more from my trip to Port Austin. This first one will warm my heart all through winter, I’m a softy for father~son moments.

This guy is one of my son’s heroes. My son refers to him as his best friend and even though he is 4 years older than my baby, he is always so good to him. It’s adorable how much M looks up to him.

I love these next shots. The kids were just doing there thing. Kids doing there thing and hazy summer days make me happy.

Love you guys! Thanks again! xoxo

I’ve been so busy this summer that I haven’t had time to enjoy it as much as I should. Every year dear friends of mine invite us to visit them while they vacation in Port Austin and every year I’m too busy to go. This year they hatched in ingenious plan, they told me they wanted beach sessions. Of course I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to photograph some of the people I love most at the beach (sneak peeks from their session to come later) so off I went. As a bonus, I got to bring the kids and spend some much needed time relaxing. We had such a great time. We spent time at the beach, went putt-putt golfing, swam in a heated pool, ate delicious food, watched the sunset and finished the night around a fire. All that and I had time to take like 800 pictures! lol Next year we may give in and actually go for the whole week. Thank you guys for getting me up there, it was some much needed time away. xoxo Krista
